1. Digestion
Digestion is the breakdown of foods. Saliva in the mouth and chewing begin the digestive process. If you gulp down your food or flood it with liquids, digestion is impaired. 2. Basic Cleansing with Mild Liver & Intestinal Detoxification

3. Candidiasis (Candida Albicans; Chronic Yeast Infections)
With the continuous over-prescribing of antibiotics and steroids, the intestinal flora and bacteria content of the intestinal tract can be seriously impaired. Beneficial bacteria (Acidophilus/ Bifidophilus) are also found in the body, especially in the intestinal tract. It is needed for the absorption of nutrients. Anti-biotics remove all the bacteria from the body and leave it ripe for yeast (candida) overgrowth. DIET is important with Candidiasis. Follow a high protein/low carbohydrate diet for 1 month. Ingest NO sugar, alcohol, or junk food, as these foods feed the yeast. You may feel tired for the 1st week, as the yeast "dies off". Stick with it — it's worth it! 4. Immune System Elevation
The world is made up of increasingly difficult challenges for the immune system to handle. 5. Anti-oxidant program (Immune, environmental toxins, radiation)
Everyone uses this term these days. But what does it really mean and how does it affect you? The anti-oxidants — (Vitamin A, Alpha Lipoic Acid, Carotenes, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Glutathione and Selenium). The dictionary defines an anti-oxidant as "a substance that opposes oxidation or inhibits reactions promoted by oxygen or peroxides." What do oxygen or air do to a silver or brass object? 6. Colds and Flu
This Protocol is for people who are prone to colds and flus during the winter months. It is especially helpful for people who work in office buildings or with children. I have these products available in my office from October through April. People usually get colds, but sometimes the "office flu" goes around. Make sure you know the difference — colds usually come on over time, sometimes a little fever, plus upper respiratory and nasal congestion; flu symptoms will include a high fever/chills, often with sudden onset, and nausea, plus the rest of the annoying upper respiratory and nasal symptoms.

7. STRESS and the Nervous System
Stress often accompanies immune problems and usually accompanies circulatory and nervous disorders. It is a silent killer. If a person is under a lot of stress, then the immune system has a much harder time protecting the body. I've been seeing this all year long in my Manhattan office. 8. Children's Nutrition
Children in the United States have never been sicker since the great epidemics of the 19th and early 20th centuries. Some people blame vaccines. Some blame it on poor food choices. Some blame it on poor parenting or the lack of parents' time to cook good food. Whatever the causes, DIET is a huge factor in the development of a child. 9. Weight Loss
Obesity is a huge and ever-growing problem in the United States. There are many reasons for its rise. The best weight-loss program I have found contains 3 simple steps:
1. Cleansing - Cleansing works on many levels. Not only is it beneficial to do a cleanse to release toxicity, it is also necessary to —cleanse— yourself from the emotional baggage that causes you to overeat. Some overweight people do not overeat, but have other issues that preclude weight loss. They include: hormone imbalances, candidiasis, hypoglycemia, and a sedentary lifestyle to name a few.
2. Diet - For most obese people, a high protein/low carbohydrate diet works best. I suggest quality proteins (fowl, seafood, occasional red meat, eggs, and tofu) for a few months to deal with carbohydrate intolerance; vegetables in any amount; very little dairy; very little alcohol (One drink 3 times per week, maximum); no sugar or desserts, except for 2 fruits daily; very few grains (best digested are white potatoes, brown rice, and rice cakes); nuts, nutbutters, seeds are OK, although no peanuts; beans and legumes are also fine. Digestion is extremely important in weight loss (see above - Protocol number One), so PDA (protein digestive aid) and Bifidophilus Flora Force are included in the Protocol.
3. Metabolic Rate - Increasing your metabolic rate is a trick to weight loss. Many obese people are borderline hypo (underactive) thyroid. Their metabolisms are sluggish. So, moderate exercise and some supplements to increase your metabolic rate really help.

10. Brain Food (for nutritional support & memory enhancement)
The brain is the enlarged and highly developed mass of nervous tissue that forms the upper
end of the central nervous system. The average adult brain weighs about 1400 grams or

11. Your Healthy Heart
Is there anyone who does not know what the heart is?? A hollow cone-shaped organ lying between the lungs with the pointed end (apex) directed downward, forward and to the left. The heart is about the size of a closed fist. Its wall consists largely of cardiac muscle (myocardium) lined and surrounded by membranes (endocardium pericardium). It is divided into 4 quarters. Deoxygenated blood from the venae cavae passes through the right atrium to the right ventricle. This contracts and pumps the blood to the lungs via the pulmonary artery. The newly oxygenated blood returns to the left atrium via the pulmonary veins and passes through the left ventricle. This forcefully contracts, pumping blood out to the body via the aorta. The direction of blood flow within the heart is controlled by valves. And round and round the 5 to 6 quarts of blood goes through the 60, 000 to 100, 000 feet of blood vessels. The heart contracts and relaxes about 100,000 times per day, 40 million times per year.
Information about cardiac function and the prevention of cardio-vascular disease has been amazing in the last 10 years. Modern medicine can be proud of its record on the prevention of heart attack and stroke with the great information that is out there now.

12. Lower Your Cholesterol Naturally

13. Anti Aging
The definition of aging from Moseby's Medical dictionary: "the process of growing old, resulting from a failure of body cells to function normally or to produce new body cells to replace those that are dead or malfunctioning".
But...can we age gracefully with good muscle tone, skin tone, healthy hair and nails, no serious illnesses and a good energy level? There are many studies that conclude that YES WE CAN. It just takes some work. Some of the keys to normal and healthy aging are achieved through a good diet with nutritious foods, little or no junk foods, appropriate weight, pure water, exercise, appropriate supplements, stress management, and a great attitude.
In fact, there are many studies that indicate the direct link between nutritional deficiencies and the chronic degenerative diseases of "so-called" aging. 14. Radiation Exposure:
Nutrition Needs for People and Animals Exposed to Ionizing Radiation

"Radioactive elements are structurally similar to their non-radioactive counterparts, differing only in the number of neutrons the atoms contain. That is why nutrition is important in preventing or blocking damage from exposure to radioactive elements. If you do not obtain sufficient amounts of calcium, potassium, and other minerals in your diet, your body may absorb radioactive elements that are similar in structure to these elements. For example, if you do not obtain enough calcium, your body will absorb radioactive strontium 90 (SR-90) or other elements that are similar in structure to calcium, if they are available. Similarly, if you obtain enough potassium from your diet, your body will be less likely to retain any radioactive Cesium 137 it encounters, as this element is similar to potassium.

(Dr. Karen continues) We have all heard about the iodine issue, which is basically that if radioactive iodine is absorbed, it displaces regular iodine uptake and can cause thyroid cancer in later years. So this is especially important in children. BUT, this type of radiation is usually emitted Day 1- Day 8 of a bomb or accident/meltdown. That is the reason for the initial use of potassium iodide. Later it gets tricky. Calcium and potassium are likely to be displaced by radioactive Strontium 90 (calcium) or Cesium 137 (potassium). Supplements are very helpful at this juncture. Foods are also quite helpful.
Sea vegetables, especially Sodium alginate (a viscous fiber) found in the product Algin contains large amounts of alginic acid, which binds and removes (even radioactive) materials including Strontium 90. Calcium-rich food sources like green leafy vegetables and dairy products tend to bind with Strontium 90.
Some cancers that are associated with Strontium 90 are leukemias, breast and prostate cancer, myelomas and other malignancies.
Cesium 137 is more likely to cause lymphatic cancers.
Calcium-rich foods: Bok choi, broccoli, chestnuts, clams, dandelion greens, dark leafy green vegetables, flounder, hazelnuts, kale, kelp, lentils, molasses, oats, oysters, peas, salmon, sardines (with the bones), sea vegetables, sesame seeds, shrimp, soybeans, tahini (sesame butter), tofu, turnip greens, and wheat germ.
Potassium-rich foods: Bananas, tomatoes, beans (canned or dried), lentils, split peas, water chestnuts, vegetable juices, V-8 juice, all electrolyte formulas.
